The Best MLM Leads May Not Be Where You Think They Are

If you are involved in an MLM business — especially online — then you know that your life (and the amount of money in your bank account) are your list. You also know that your list cannot grow without leads. And there is no shortage of experts (and not-so-expert “experts”) who will tell you how and from where you should be getting “the best MLM leads” so that you can grow a big list.

Some people will tell you that the best MLM leads are found by simply getting as many leads as possible (the “quantity approach”). By getting as many names as humanly possible, you will end up with a decent number of good leads. The proponents of the “quantity approach” to leads will tell you that it is a numbers game, and that this is the best way to find the best MLM leads.

Others will disagree and tell you that you should only go for “quality leads.” They will tell you that the best MLM leads come from either paying for them or from knowing the right tricks for how to find only quality leads.

So which is right? Which will get you the best MLM leads? The answer is neither… and both. Confused yet?

First, one piece of advice about lead-getting. Do not fall into the trap of buying leads. While it might intuitively seem to make sense that the best MLM leads would have to be those for which you have to pay because they’ve been “vetted,” the truth is that these leads tend to not be anything anywhere close to as good as they’re advertised to be. Ask any top marketing “guru,” and he or she will tell you that they never pay for leads.

Um…don’t buy leads – learn to generate your own! Then you can position yourself as a leading authority and an expert and most importantly…create a relationship with the leads that you’re generating.

The truth is that there is not one “holy grail” way for getting the best MLM leads. What you actually want to do is do a little bit of both — get a good quantity of leads and get good quality leads. Don’t focus on just one or the other.

Here is the key thing you need to know to really get the best MLM leads. Even if you are able to accumulate a huge number of names or “leads,” it is what you do with those leads that will make or break you in your online business. It is whether you know how to convert the best leads into customers or part of your downline that is key.
