If you’re like most you love leads…and you really, really love FREE leads.

In this short video I’m going to show you exactly how to generate more leads WITHOUT having any more traffic than you currently do and show you a simple tip that can throw your conversion rate numbers through the roof.

There’s 2 things I REALLY enjoyed about this.

1. It’s truly “set and forget” set it up once and walk away. Literally.

2. It allows your prospects to find what’s important to them FASTER – which, in turn, also puts money into your pocket faster.

Do You Ever Find Yourself Spending So Much Time Focusing On “Now Money” That You Overlook The Importance Of Building Assets?

Many moons ago I owned a swimming pool service and remodeling business. It was a business that I purchased in 2000 and I only had one intention…to build an asset, turn it into a business that was nearly completely hands-off – so I could sell it within 24 months for maximum value.

To accomplish this I knew I had to focus on building an asset. I went on a rampage…generating customers and building my “buyer file” as quickly as I possibly could.

All because I realized that my buyer file (ie; customers) was a true asset – as well as the system I created to acquire, service and support customers. These were all assets that others would gladly pay top dollar for.

20 months later I had increased the residential side of the business by nearly 400% and the commercial side by just over 300%.

Equally important, I created an infrastructure within the company so, for me, it was practically hands off by the time I sold the business.

In December of 2002 when I contacted a business broker within the industry to sell the company I knew the business would get top-dollar because of 2 things:

1. I had systems in place – it was a smooth operation. Personally, when it came time to sell the company, I was working less than 10 hours a week.

2. I focused on building assets – I didn’t focus on “now money”, I was laser beam focused on generating more customers – and keeping them happy so they’d stay on.

In network marketing I focus on THE SAME STRATEGIES.

It’s the same principles that are “mission critical” to building any business.

Here’s the 3 pillars:

1. Convert prospects into leads.

2. Convert leads into customers.

3. Provide HUGE value so they stay customers and want to continue buying more products or services from you.

It almost sounds too easy.

Drive targeted traffic to a lead capture page.

Convert prospects with a problem you can solve into leads.

Provide killer value to those prospects so they buy your stuff & once they’re a customer keep providing “the good stuff” so they continue buying from you.

Rinse and repeat.

Here’s the trap that most people fall into when incorporating this…

They almost entirely focus on “now money”. They’re so concerned about making money right now…like this very second, they forget to focus on appreciating assets and quickly turn their list of prospects into a depreciating asset.

If you offer your list products after products after products…they get “immune” to your emails and offers in general.

They no longer want to hear from you – they know you’re just out to get into their wallet…again.

Huge mistake.

A list that becomes immune to your correspondence is a list that becomes WORTHLESS over time.

What’s the cure?

Here’s how to get the best of both worlds.

There’s nothing wrong with “now money” – better put, it’s ESSENTIAL for networkers to make money now. It’s needed to keep their business going.

But there is a right way of going about it…

Give your list huge value AND incorporate timely offers into your emails (sales videos, snail mail offers, etc).

When you give them sweet content…good stuff they can use right now AND you sprinkle in offers that will help them solve their problem…NOW YOU’RE GOLDEN.

Focus on building assets that appreciate in time.

You’ve heard the old analogy that a new vehicle plummets in value from the moment you drive it off the lot.

Well, if you’re only focused on “now money” and you’re selling your list something at every chance you have, your list will quickly become that car.

It will quickly lose its value – and it becomes an asset, that in time, becomes pretty close to useless.

Here’s an example:

If you were selling weight loss products (again, this is an example, substitute “weight loss” with whatever you’re marketing) and you’re building a list of prospects looking to lose weight and every email they got from you offered them something to buy….and there was no content…or relationship being built.

See what I mean?

Prospects become customers because they WANT to – not because they’re FORCED to.

Big difference.

People love to buy – we can’t stand being sold.

Prospects buy stuff from people they know and trust.

They get to know you only when you spend time building a relationship.

They trust you because you spend time sharing meaningful and relevant content.

This is why EVERY home based business owner should focus on their own training and education. Doctors go to school for a long time…as do attorneys and anyone with a “career”. For some goofy reason, we’re not taught the importance of education as a network marketer. The truth is that this industry and direct response marketing in general requires us to know what to do and how to do it. We’re not born with these skills.

You can start here by grabbing “The Recruiting Machine” – it’s rock solid information that shows you exactly how to become a leader, how to generate a flood of new prospects every single day and shows you exactly how to build relationships with your prospects – all on autopilot.

Items to focus on right now:

Don’t destroy your list.

Focus on building value.

Don’t get so tied up into how how much money you can make today.

Focus on HOW MUCH VALUE CAN YOU PROVIDE TODAY.

Value = wealth.

Provide enough value, to enough people and you’ll have more true wealth and more assets than you’ll know what to do with.

I’m committed to your success,

Terry Duff

P.S. It is my number one focus and personal priority to provide you with steady & meaningful content. The kind of value that helps you generate specific results with your business. I truly hope that I’m setting a positive example – and doing my part to genuinely help those who are not only seeking it, but who are also willing to work their tail off for it.

This is a big stumbling block for a lot of people in direct sales/network marketing. Let’s dive in and chat about the exact steps I use to properly target audiences with laser beam accuracy. Here are the key components and are essential if you’re looking to speak with prospects that are looking to speak with you…

1. Understand the “core benefits” of what your products provide. For now, ignore features (this will come later in the “offer”)…things like color, shape, sizes, etc. Focus on if someone consumes/uses your product/services for a period of time, what is the end result likely to be…maybe they’ll lose weight, they’ll be able to run faster, they’ll grow hair back on their head, cholesterol levels may be lowered etc…

If you have products in multiple niche markets, focus on one benefit initially…create a marketing campaign around that niche (capture page, sales page, follow up emails, teleconference, webinar, etc).

Make a list of the potential benefits that your product(s) provide. Oh, and making money is not a benefit (more on that in just a moment). From that list, select one benefit that you’re attached to…maybe it had that result for you or it had a strong impact on your life because it __________ (fill in the blank with how it helped you personally).

Everything with your campaign should be focused around that central theme. If it helped you lose weight…your capture page, sales letter, teleconference call, etc should be solving that problem for those that are looking to lose weight.

Side note: I almost always lead with the product and close with the opportunity. This completely goes against the grain with what we’re taught to do in the industry. Here’s why I do that…

Opportunities are a dime a dozen. There’s ALWAYS going to be a better paying gig out there. Always. Typically, when one doesn’t see a return in the first couple months (if you lead with the opportunity), that prospect is gone like the wind…they’re disappointed. They’ll point the finger all over the place as to why it didn’t work for them, but the bottom line is they’re gone…off to the races with their next venture. Likely, not looking in the mirror and saying “the problem is me…not the company, the products, my upline” or any other “self justification” they can deem worthy of justifying their failure.

There’s no competitive advantage when leading with the opportunity. There’s nothing that separates one business from another when it’s based entirely on how strong the comp plan is.

On the other hand, you can create a distinct advantage when leading with products (ie; the manufacturing process, product inputs, primary benefits, etc).

When one leads with the product, retention rates are FAR superior…AND you still end up with business builders. They have a story – there’s an emotional impact because they used the product(s) and experienced results. First hand.

Now you have the best of both worlds…solid retention numbers so you continue getting paid month after month and you get business builders to boot.

2. Now that we’ve addressed “square one” to identify your target audience, this makes advertising and promotion a whole lot easier than the alternative (leading with the opportunity). If one of the primary benefits your products help with is weight loss, now you can run solo ads, articles, video distribution, etc to generate laser beam targeted traffic to your capture page, so you can begin the process of building a relationship with them.

The key here is understanding how search engines and human psychology work. You’re trying to be as specific is you possibly can be. If one types in “feel better” into a search engine, one might say, “Well, that’s my audience because my product helps people feel better”. We want to be more specific than that with our messages. You know without a doubt that if one heads to google.com and they type in “how to safely lose weight” and you have an ad there talking about safely losing weight…they click on it, go to your site…now you have what I call “message to market harmony”.

Your message is in perfect harmony with what the prospect was looking for.

They searched for a solution to a problem they’re looking to conquer…and they ultimately found your site that promises a solution to that problem.

Now, you’ve got the perfect message in front of the right audience. There’s no guessing or questioning what they’re looking for or what you’re providing.

3. Once you’ve identified a big benefit that your products can provide, begin scouring the net…look in forums, sign up for newsletters – BE PART OF THEIR COMMUNITY. Stand side by side with them…join them.

This will allow you to truly understand what they’re looking for. What are their struggles…are they tired of the “yo yo cycle” and going from diet to diet? Are they frustrated with losing a fair amount of weight only to gain it back? What are their struggles and frustrations as they relate to a solution they’re seeking.

Knowing this information is GOLDEN.

Now, they’re telling you exactly what they want. Create your marketing messages (ie; presentation call, capture page, sales page, follow up emails, etc) so they revolve around what they’re looking for.

In your follow up emails, take a survey relatively early on…this will allow you to get information straight from the horses mouth – knowing your prospects…what they’re looking for, their frustrations, their desires, etc should be at the core of your marketing.

Use surveygizmo.com or surveymonkey.com for your survey – they’re both solid providers in my experience. Also, take the survey around your 5th follow up email in your autoresponder – then, take that information and restructure your follow up emails, presentation call and any aspect of your marketing campaign that’s not adequately communicating a solution to their problem.

You want your message to resonate and engage your audience. The more information you know about them, the greater % of prospects will become associates/distributors.

Please note, this is my “reader’s digest” version of how to properly target your audience…I’m covering the main keys to successfully bring this together for you.

Don’t underestimate the power of “information”. Knowing your target audience, who they are and their struggles is the most important factor to a successful marketing campaign. Not knowing their true frustrations and what they’re really seeking is like shooting darts blindfolded from 50 feet. It’s not a good recipe for success.

Also, don’t forget to submit a comment…let me know your thoughts on this very important topic and if you’d like more information on properly targeting your audience.

I’m gonna dive into a topic that seldom gets addressed in the network marketing/direct sales industry. And it’s an important one…

Understanding that successful marketing is a set of experiences for your prospects…it’s not a single event.

Here’s what I mean…

From an attraction marketing standpoint, using the Internet as a means to communicate your message, prospects seldom go to a site, do their research and make an immediate purchase. Think about this…what if you drove 1,000 people to a “typical” company website using PPC, articles or any other sources of traffic…where they can view products, company history, comp plan, founders, etc…you’d be LUCKY to have one (yes, just one prospect) sign up.

That’s just not an effective way to build a business. There was no relationship with the prospect, there’s no positioning taking place, there’s no “why you should sign up with me and my company compared to the thousands of others available.

Effective marketing is about building a SYSTEM that fluidly guides your audience down a path that’s mutually beneficial. You’re able to solve a problem he/she has…and you’re making $$ at the same time. Everyone wins.

That can only take place when we have what I call the “Campaign Pillars” in place that takes your audience from one point to the next…and in a manner that is conducive to what they’re looking for.

Every aspect of your campaign needs to come together like a finely tuned Lamborghini Gallardo. Not everything needs to be perfect…but it all needs to exist. Get 80% of it right and you’ll generate results that exceed your expectations.

Here are some of the most important “Pillars” that need to exist…

1. Data capture page (squeeze page)

2. Targeted traffic, not traffic that doesn’t convert to $$ (don’t use traffic forms that don’t eventually convert to customers or distributors…ie; free classified ads).

3. Build a relationship with your list. Educate and inform them. Share meaningful, relevant content with them that solves problems they’re encountering. There’s a big difference between list building and relationship building. Building a list is just that…however, if we don’t build a relationship with the people on that list, essentially you’ll end up with a meaningless asset as it won’t net you any positive results. Essentially, you’re looking to create trust – people flock to do business with those they trust and believe in.

The good news here is that none of these “Pillars” need to be done perfectly…but they MUST be done. These things are what MAKE YOU MONEY. That’s where 99% of your focus should be applied to. These are “money tasks” because they do exactly that…add to your bottom line.

At the end of the day, your prospects are going through a set of experiences…it’s not a single event that will lead to new team member. You’re creating a “triangle of trust” with them…because you’ve positioned yourself accordingly as you created this virtual relationship with them.

That’s exactly why I created The Recruiting Machine. It literally takes you by the trousers and shows you exactly how to create an effective system…and then guide your prospects down a “slippery slope” through your marketing system.

It deserves your attention if you’re serious about taking your business to the next level. You can check it out right here. It’s backed by my full 1 YEAR guarantee too. If you’re not completely ecstatic for any reason, let me know and I’ll by it back from you.

Rock and roll,

Terry

The 3 Skills That MUST Be Right To Build
A Successful Home Based Business…

Get these right and literally create your own check…

At the end of the day, there are 3 main ingredients that a home based business owner needs to be really, really good at.

Not just “so so”, but these skills must be mastered to create towering commission checks.

1. Copywriting. The art of using the written word to actually sell stuff. In my opinion, this is the most underrated, yet most powerful skill that anyone can ever learn to master. They don’t teach this in school…network marketing companies don’t touch this topic and your upline’s likely to think you’re speaking a foreign language if you ask him what copywriting is.

The magnitude of this is intense – when one gets really good at this it opens up a brand new paradigm to what’s really possible. Direct mail, presentations, squeeze pages, sales letters, video sales pages, follow up emails, PR, etc – practically EVERYTHING we do as business owners revolves around this concept. Study it. Words on paper (or a monitor screen or a TV, etc) can be POWERFUL.

2. The understanding that businesses are built on systems….NOT PIECES. If you ordered a pizza from Domino’s and it came without pizza sauce, you’d be a bit ticked off right? Probably wouldn’t taste all that good either…

Well, your business is NOT about any single variable. It’s not about follow up emails…it’s not about squeeze pages, it’s not about a funded proposal, it’s not about getting traffic to your website…BRINGING ALL OF THESE VARIABLES TOGETHER IS WHAT BUILDING A BUSINESS IS ABOUT.

Imagine to generate leads without using an autoresponder. It wouldn’t provide any results and accomplish what you were expecting.

Your main focus should be on “system building” – that’s the key to making things happen.

3. Massive, massive amounts of targeted, quality website traffic is a driving force for crazy, sustainable momentum. I was at my local print shop yesterday picking up some sales letters they had just printed for me and we had a pretty good conversation about this exact topic. She asked me if getting traffic to a site or actually building a website was a better skill set for her business to have. Hands down, my response was simple…”Anyone can build a website…there are VERY few people who truly understand how to get massive amounts of targeted traffic to a site. You can go to guru.com or elance.com and have someone build you a nice site for a couple hundred bucks or less…the REAL skill in mastering the Internet is understanding traffic”.

If you’re serious about making things happen…GET REALLY GOOD AT GETTING TARGETED TRAFFIC TO YOUR WEBSITE.

The Money Formula:

More leads = relationships with more people = more money in your bank account.

Simple as that.

That’s exactly why I created Lead Tsunami. It’s the industry’s leading source of heavy hitting, accurate and solid traffic crushing information.

No hype…no BS…just good advice that will literally take you by the hand and show you how to get targeted traffic to any site you want within HOURS of right now.

Click Here To Get More Traffic.

It’s fully backed by my 12 month, no questions asked guarantee. If you don’t think it was worth at least 3times what you’ve invested, let me know for a full and prompt refund. No questions asked.

All the best,

In this quick tip…

“How to get laser beam targeted traffic for FREE using a SIMPLE video marketing technique”

If you love getting laser beam traffic…and lots of it without spending a dime, this is for you.

One of the best ways of getting traffic if you’re on a shoe string budget (or even if you’re working with a substantial marketing budget) is to harness the power of video marketing…

It goes like this…

1. Grab the video desktop recording software at camstudio.org – it’s a watered down version of Camtasia and doesn’t cost you a dime – it’s also COMPLETELY sufficient for this simple system I’m sharing right now.

2. Create a 2-5 minute video using either Powerpoint or create a slide presentation using Google Docs (you can setup a free account at docs.google.com). Keep it SUPER simple…don’t have it professionally done or anything – keep it amateur and remember, you’re looking for traffic. Nothing fancy is necessary here to make this work effectively.

3. Use Google’s keyword research tool (it’s free) – all you need now is an Adwords account (again, free) that you can setup in 5 minutes at adwords.google.com.

4. This step is key – you’re looking for keyword phrases that have at least 1,000 searches per month and have less than 40,000 competing sites. To discover how many competing sites you’re going up against, take a keyword phrase that you’re researching to google.com – type it in the search box, using parenthesis. This will tell you how many other sites are using that phrase. The smaller the number, the easier it is to get ranked well on the search engines and get placed on page one (of organic results).

5. Once you’ve isolated a keyword phrase and you’ve recorded a short video using the desktop video recording software, now we need to distribute the video to a few video sharing websites. To keep things simple, we’ll submit the video to metacafe.com, youtube.com and dailymotion.com – there are lots of others you can submit to as well, but it’s not necessary…you’re looking for organic search traffic with the search engines and just focusing on these 3 will allow that to happen).

6. When you submit the videos at each location make sure that keyword phrase you’ve discovered and met the parameters is mentioned in the title of the video (once) and in the description twice.

7. Make sure you tell them in the video to go to xyz.com and promise to give them something to create the urgency for them to head over to your data capture page (in exchange for them submitting their information (the lead) give them a report, content filled video, some sort of “cheat sheet” that relates to your niche…but most importantly, give them sweet content that helps them!).

Example…let’s assume a big benefit for one of your products is “weight loss” and you’re going to optimize it for the keyword phrase “safe effective weight loss”.

Your video title might be “Safe Effective Weight Loss – 3 Easy Steps”.

The description of the video might read, “Safe effective weight loss technique. Short video discloses 3 safe and effective weight loss techniques”.

You get the idea – this is just an example.

So the objective here is when someone goes to do a search at any of the big search engines (yahoo, bing, google, live – or search their video results, depending on the search engine) and they type in the keyword you’ve optimized the video for, your video will show up in the results for that specific search.

Wait a day or two then type in the keyword phrase you used over at google.com and find your video!

That’s it!

Crazy simple…yet super effective technique.

The cool thing here is that you can “ramp up” with relative ease. Don’t just do this for one or two keyword phrases…you can knock out and submit each video in less than 20 minutes. Block out a few hours and have some fun.

Not only will this get you targeted traffic, but you’re getting quality leads without spending a dime. And it’s crazy fun too!

Get out there and make it happen.

Committed to your success,

Terry Duff

A marketing funnel is nothing more than guiding your prospect from one point to the next…and doing such in a very smooth fashion to ensure you don’t create confusion with your prospects.

Here’s an example…

Let’s say you’re marketing something that relates to helping others lose weight.

You’d bring traffic to your data capture page – only prospects that are looking for a solution you can provide, right? In this case, ways of losing those excess lbs.

So they come to your data capture (squeeze) page, the message you’re sharing and benefit driven copy is compelling…so the prospect submits his/her information (generating the lead for you) and in exchange, you give them some really cool and meaningful content that’s geared towards what they’re looking for. All at no charge.

Maybe you give them a 30 minute video that shows them some really cool exercises or some groovy ways of burning calories…maybe you talk about good carbs VS bad carbs. You get the idea here.

Your free giveaway should position yourself as an expert…a leading authority on whatever the problem happens to be that you’re discussing – in this case it’s weight loss.

OK, hurdle #1 conquered.

You’ve generated the lead – this is the very start of your marketing funnel.

This is paramount and where many miss the mark…

Once that’s been accomplished, everything beyond that should be consistent to how he/she came into your marketing funnel.

Your follow up emails, offers that you create, affiliate products, products created by your primary company, teleconferences/webinars, etc – all of it should be geared towards helping the end user accomplish one thing and only one thing…losing weight.

For most marketers, once the lead is created they then take them to an opportunity call/webinar or a to a company website that talks about the opportunity, has 37 links on how cool all the products are, company history, founders etc – big mistake. The marketing isn’t congruent and it’s usually pieced together pretty sloppily.

Confuse prospects and you’ll lose sales. Period.

Would you go to Best Buy looking for a new car?

Negative.

You’d go to a dealership who carries a product line that you’re checking out.

Your marketing should be no different. When someone enters your marketing funnel – your job as a marketer is to guide them down a path to assist them in finding a solution to their problem. In this example, it’s to show them an effective solution to help them lose weight.

If you’re doing presentation calls, webinars, etc – the “meat” of the call should be about ways of losing weight. That’s the “movie” they came to see. Your “infomercial”, if you will. Then discuss the opportunity after solving their primary problem of wanting to lose weight.

Think of it like this…if you purchased 2 movie tickets and you and your spouse were gonna see a cool new movie that just came out, but you sit down in the theater and they begin playing a western movie from the 50′s, you’d be pretty upset right?

You’d leave the theater, get your money back and that would be that.

Keep your marketing consistent…it should flow from one point to the next seamlessly to your audience. That’s sound marketing – when done properly you’re doing 2 things that help you:

1. You’re solving problems – if you’re not doing this, you’re not getting paid.

2. Your list of prospects will shrink…and pretty quickly – because you’re not doing number 1 above.

To seamless marketing,

Terry

Pardon the long post, but this is probably the most important entry to date I’ve put on this blog. It will have a big impact on your business and how you view things…

OK, so you get signed up into a company…you spend x dollars and you’re in business, right?

Sorta…now you “need” to get a company replicated site, biz cards, make the list of your warm market and the whole enchilada…

Building a successful business revolves around one simple (yet seldom used) formula…creating “YOU INC”.

It has NOTHING to do with business cards, car magnets, corner signs, setting up kiosks or approaching complete strangers.

Positioning yourself as a leading authority…an expert in your respective niche market. Network marketing (or leverage marketing as I like to refer to it) is all about:

1. Creating a system that brands YOU – not your company, your upline or anything along those lines.

2. Creating a system that your distributors can use that’s equally powerful as the one you’ve created.

Here’s what I mean…

Most get a company replicated website…with all the bells and whistles. It has a nice presentation, product description, company overview, talks about all the compensation plan, etc. And to boot, you spend anywhere from $20 to $100 a month for this “tool”.

Your company tells you to send prospects to the site and have the site do the “work” for you. You look at your “data” after a few months and you’ve had say, 300 visitors to your site…and maybe 3 signups. OK, you’ve had a 1% closing rate after they’ve viewed the site (this number is VERY optimistic using a company created site).

(Note: Nothing against company websites…but from a marketing stand point they just don’t cut the mustard. Way too much information is dished out rather than ONLY focusing on generating the lead – and only the lead).

Sound familiar?

So, you sit down and do the math…

If you continue doing what you’re doing, it would take 20 years to sign up maybe 100 people into your business. I’m hoping this analogy with rough numbers is sinking in…

Who wants to wait that long? Think your leaders started that way? Ummm, no.

When one begins to understand direct marketing and what it’s really all about they quickly understand that their company is nothing more than the manufacturer of their products/services.

Nothing more. Nothing less. A “creator” of their products.

Building a successful business revolves around systems. Where the “system” does the heavy lifting and “sorting” for you. There’s simply not enough hours in a day for “manual” sorting to take place.

Think about this for a second…

What if:

You had your own capture page (positioning YOU as the expert and said NOTHING about your company).

You had your own follow up emails…again, positioning you as the expert.

Shared valuable content with your subscribers…stuff that helped them solve their problems (isn’t that what marketing (not selling) is all about?).

You created your own digital products (again, that solved a problem they have) that positioned you as the expert.

	- Now, you’ve got a “buyer file” or customer list of people that have purchased something from you without ever speaking with you…think they’re likely to then sign up into your business? Absolutely.

What if you hosted occasional teleconferences/webinars to deliver additional helpful content with your database and offered your products using these platforms as well.

Free conference lines are over the place. Check out:

www.freeconferencing.com

www.freeconference.com

There are numerous others, but these are good.

Breaking it down…

1. Build your list of prospects that are looking for what you have.

2. Share good information with them for FREE. This will help establish your expertise and build a relationship with your audience.

We’re taught to do just the opposite. Approach others…get the products in front of them and tell ‘em how great the products/opportunity are.

When you’re coming from an expert status in the eyes of your prospects…your results will be a lot more enjoyable than what you may be currently experiencing. Plus, it’s just a lot more fun with others are “chasing” you instead of the other way around.

Create your own system that positions you…not your company or anyone else. Once you’ve created your system and it’s dialed in – show your business builders on how to do exactly what you’ve done.

All the best,

Terry

When most first get involved with their home based business, the first thing they’re told to do is to make a list of their warm market. You’ve heard it over and over again…”sit down and write a list of your family, friends and anyone you’ve had contact with over the past year…then call them and invite them to a “showing”".

And, truth be told, this technique does work….however, it’s not a long term business building strategy – it’s really like building a business on quicksand.

Here’s why. You’ll go through that process and likely enroll a few people. After a few months though you’ve got a problem on your hands…those that were gung ho crazy about making tons of money have now dropped out of your business (cause they weren’t making anything) and you can’t recruit fast enough to offset those dropping out.

End result = your check gets smaller and smaller with each passing month.

Network marketing is one of very few industries that provides no formal training to new associates. We hear the typical stuff…approach your friends and family, pass out fliers, product samples, etc – there’s “no meat and potatoes” to build your business based upon direct response marketing principals.

Think about it…if you wanted to be a pharmacist, an accountant, a fashion designer…or hey, even if you wanted to flip burgers, you’d partake in a formal training program that would show you the “ins and outs” of how to do what you’re trying to do, right?

Not so much in network marketing. The only thing “qualifying” someone to be in business is your checkbook…bring a few hundred bucks and we’ll get you into business. OK, now what? No formal training, just approach everyone who comes within 3 feet of you, sound excited…and you’ll build a business. Uh huh.

Building a business requires an understanding of what marketing is REALLY all about. It’s an understanding of how to create an endless supply of leads…then how to properly communicate with them using the written word and the spoken word to bring ‘em into your business.

It took me several years to ultimately figure out that network marketing (or building any business for that matter) boils down to 2 basic things…constantly learning and constantly applying that knowledge into my business. Almost sounds too simple, but it’s the absolute truth.

Savvy marketers understand that they can’t build a sound business with their friends and family…they understand they have to “work the numbers”, but not in the traditional sense. Most people believe they can build a business by “presenting” their opportunity to 20 or 30 prospects a week will do the trick – doesn’t work like that.

For most, that would be a GREAT week too. There’s a much more effective and efficient way of building a business…you can “present” your products/opportunity to THOUSANDS, or TENS OF THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE EVERY WEEK…when you understand marketing. It comes down to this formula:

1. Create a list of prospects that are reaching out…wanting more information on what you’ve got cookin’.

2. Share valuable content/information with them (remember, marketing is about building relationships based upon their needs, then solving their problems).

3. Host periodic teleconferences or webinars – to share good content and recruit.

4. Recruit via email and/or video via the list you’ve created.

You must be positioned as a leading authority in your niche – prospects buy from experts and those they trust. Simple as that.

Once you master this formula, the sky really is the limit. Not only for yourself, but you’ll then share your knowledge to your team so they can do the same.

I went through the school of hard knocks…after first getting involved with network marketing in the early 90′s I spent about $70,000.00 trying to figure things out on my own. HUGE MISTAKE, but it also taught me volumes.

It’s that knowledge that provides me the ability to generate millions of dollars every year and more importantly, share that information and exactly how to do it with people like you.

If you’re serious about creating a sound business and recruiting more associates next month than you did during the prior 12 combined…it’s paramount that you understand direct response marketing. Here’s a few of my mentors that you should be learning from as well: Dan Kennedy, Michael Masterson, Claude Hopkins, the late Gary Halbert, Eben Pagan…to name a few. Get on their mailing lists..watch their every move. Learn.

Committed to your success,

Terry

When it comes to copywriting there are countless variables that can make or break a site. To name a few:

1. Testing

2. Did you “engage” your audience

3. Was the message conversational

4. Did it flow

5. Were the headlines and subheads to help “guide” the reader and allow “flow” to easily take place

6. Was the message in “sync” with why the prospect came to your site

7. Did it solve a big problem they have

8. Did you make the opt in process EASY

9. Did you give them something worth submitting their details – did your “carrot” have a high perceived value

10. Did you have a strong call to action – did you make it clear why they should take action right now and submit their details
