Pre-Paid Legal Services Review
By Tony L.
This Pre-Paid Legal Services review will give you more information about the company so that you can decide if it is the right direct marketing opportunity for you.
Before continuing with this review if you’re serious about adding more new associates next month than you did during all of last year, read this report, “How To Create Your First 6 Figure Month In Network Marketing”.
Pre-Paid Legal Services (also known as “PPL”) is a network marketing company that sells what might best be described as “legal insurance.” From the perspective of creating this Pre-Paid Legal Services review, the originality of this service is a big positive. Like other types of insurance, this service involves people paying a monthly or yearly fee (fairly modest) which entitles them to certain legal services for free and other legal services at a discount (as long as provided by a participating attorney).
Of course, and like any “insurance,” there are exclusions and limitations to the service (e.g., criminal and tort litigation). The reasonableness of the cost along with the marketability of the service make this a good overall business and a positive in terms of this Pre-Paid Legal Services review.
The background of this company is actually a good story, and thus I am including it in this Pre-Paid Legal Services review. While the company was actually launched in the early 1970′s, its roots go back to an incident with its founder, Harland Stonecipher, that occurred several years earlier. Back in 1969, Mr. Stonecipher was involved in a car accident that ended up causing him to incur significant legal fees. He noted that although he had insurance that covered the damage to his vehicle and his medical bills, there was no such equivalent for covering legal fees. Thus, the idea for this company was born.
There are a couple of negatives I must include in this Pre-Paid Legal Services review. The first of which is that although the service itself is a good one, if you are an associate you will need to be fairly good at presenting it to potential associates and customers. Because there are certain exclusions to this service, it is crucial to be clear about them when you market this, otherwise you may have retention and other issues.
The other negative I must put in this Pre-Paid Legal Services review is that like so many other network marketing companies, the marketing system taught by this company is outdated and pretty ineffective. Specifically, they (like most network marketing companies) teach their associates to generate leads and build their downlines by approaching friends, family members, neighbors and co-workers. This is an ineffective marketing system on many levels, but in general it is counter to the right way to market.
If you learn how to properly market this company so that you are the hunted instead of the hunter (i.e., so that you have prospects approaching you instead of you having to chase prospects), then this is a company that can absolutely be successfully marketed. Overall, this company gets good marks from this Pre-Paid Legal Services review.
