YTB International Review

YTB International Review

By Tony L.

This YTB International review will give you more information about the company so that you can decide if it is the right direct marketing opportunity for you.

Before continuing with this review if you’re serious about adding more new associates next month than you did during all of last year, read this report, “How To Create Your First 6 Figure Month In Network Marketing”.

YTB International (aka YourTravelBiz) is a St. Louis-based network marketing company founded in 2001 by J. Lloyd Tomer. It’s primary business is selling discount travel (not unlike websites like Travelocity and Kayak).

Writing this YTB International review was somewhat difficult. While it doesn’t take too much research to understand the “product,” finding reliable information about this company and the network marketing business it offers is considerably more difficult.

Intuitively, the idea of this business is great and I would have thought that would be leading to a very positive YTB International review. After all, discount travel seems to be a very marketable product, and making some money (and get great discounts for yourself on travel) marketing it sounds great. I do wonder how difficult it is to sell the product (in terms of the actual discount travel itself) versus selling the ability for people to get discount travel on their own and for themselves.

Having said all of that, the best thing I can say here in this YTB International review is that I would be very nervous about getting involved with this company. Ordinarily — and with few exceptions — I feel that people can be successful (and usually very successful) in a network marketing company assuming they understand how to market them properly.

Most of the people who don’t succeed in a network marketing company don’t succeed because they are using the ineffective and outdated marketing techniques that most network marketing companies teach their associates to use. People who limit their marketing to bugging their friends and family, and to relying solely on their “warm market” to build their downline, have a very big challenge in network marketing.

In the case of YTB International — and for purposes of this YTB International review — I am not sure that even great marketing makes this a good business opportunity. Here are my “question marks” about this company…

First and foremost is the virtual flood of articles online discussing lawsuits in which YTB International is and has been involved. Utilizing the “where there is smoke, there is fire” train of thought, this would make me worry about the stability of this company.

On more practical notes, I am equally trepidatious about this company because its comp plan and general business plan seems a little foggy. I could not locate the company’s full comp plan anywhere, and was only able to find this on the website as any clue about what is in it: “Rep commissions are paid exclusively on the enrollment of new Referring Travel Agents (RTAs) and on their monthly license fees.” Not much to go on…which seems to be the theme of this YTB International review.
