Hey Terry, I have a question:

I want to start out as an affiliate marketer, so I bought your ‘recruiting machine’ product. I realize that maybe the intended audience for this product are network marketers, but the business advice that you give seems to me like it applies to any business. Anyway, as I examined your product, I feel like before I promote any product, I need to be an “expert” on it. At least that’s what I’ve understood from reading your material. Because of this, I’m scared to promote any one product because I feel like I don’t know enough about any niche. Most advice that I’ve read suggests that I should just choose something that I enjoy doing, and then promote a product that goes along with that. The thing is, I don’t want to start out promoting anything that I’m not sure would be a true quality product. This is due to the fact that something great that I’ve learned from you is to develop trust from my audience. I want to have a good reputation with them. I’ve also considered creating my own info product so that I don’t have to figure out which product to promote. In one of your more recent e-mails, I considered purchasing Marlon Sanders’ Traffic Dashboard, just based solely on the fact that somewhere in there it mentions that it helps you make money online writing articles. I’m interested in this area of affiliate marketing, but I’m just confused about how to start. It would help A LOT if you were to be so kind as to point me in the right direction. Sorry my comment was so wordy. I have a lot of questions. Thank you for your time!

Hi Daniel,

It is extremely beneficial to be or become an expert with anything that you’re marketing. Study your niche, be able to answer questions on the fly – do whatever is necessary to make it happen…visit blogs online, magazines, forums, etc.

Don’t get paralysis by analysis…doesn’t mean you can’t begin creating some of your marketing…at the same time you’ll be learning. There’s nothing wrong to get paid while you’re learning something…that’s where it begins.

Before purchasing a bunch of stuff, become a student of direct response marketing. Study Dan Kennedy, Bob Bly, Clayton Makepeace, etc. That’s where to start.
